While we work, we enrich the soil with a fertilizer designed specifically for cedar hedges. We also supply a topsoil mix to support optimal cedar growth.

Once planting is complete, a perforated watering hose is provided and installed free of charge between the hedge plants to ensure optimal watering.

Different types of cedars

White cedar

White cedar, also known as Thuja occidentalis, is a classic choice for hedges thanks to its natural density and hardiness. With its fast growth up to 24 inches per year in optimal conditions and bright green foliage, this variety is ideal for creating tall, opaque hedges. Resistant to Québec winters, it maintains its appeal season after season. However, this cedar requires yearly maintenance to preserve its shape and health, especially during the summer.

Nigra cedar

Nigra cedar, a variety of Thuja occidentalis, stands out with its dark green foliage that stays vibrant throughout the winter. More compact than white cedar, it can reach a height of up to 6 metres at maturity with a width of up to 3 metres. Perfect for elegant, evergreen hedges, Nigra is particularly appreciated in layouts where a higher visual density is required. Regular trimming is essential to maintain its shape and ideal size.

Smaragd cedar

The Smaragd western arborvitae is known for its bright green foliage and pyramidal shape. Although it is often used as a stand-alone ornamental tree, it can also be trained into a hedge for specific projects.
